After showing me around Maktab Anbar and the Jewish Quarter of the Old Town, Nasser invited me back to his house for tea. Whilst we were there, his uncle showed up to join us. His uncle claimed to be 86 years old, but said he could remember growing up under both the Ottomans and the French, so that would make him more like 96 years old. It was times like this that I found myself wishing I was fluent in Arabic, as I could only talk with him via Nasser translating. He was at one stage married to five (!) women, but they are all dead now. He said that he'd like to marry again and find another woman to 'make sex with', and said that he was much stronger and more virile than I was, which he attempted to underline by flexing his arms continuously. However, his claims were kinda undone by the fact that he fell asleep in his chair immediately after his second cup of tea...
